What does VertiCer do?

VertiCer is the institution in the Netherlands that issues Guarantees of Origin (GoO) and certificate of origin (CoO) for all sustainable energy carriers. A GoO is the only proof that energy has been generated in a sustainable way. A CoO is the only proof that electricity was generated from fossil sources. Both GoOs and CoOs can be traded. VertiCer is the central point for all matters surrounding this certification.

Recognition of GOs issued in Bulgaria
15 oktober 2024
VertiCer has concluded an agreement with Bulgarian issuing body SEDA on the recognition of GO issued in Bulgaria for electricity disclosure in the Netherlands. Starting on 1 October 2024 VertiCer will accept GOs cancelled in SEDA’s registry in respect of electricity consumption that takes place in the Netherlands.

VertiCer held consultations among various interest groups in early September 2024 to present its plans for integrating the processes and IT around the issuance of Green Gas and Hydrogen GoOs.
VertiCer applies for membership in AIB EECS® Gas Scheme Group
11 september 2024
VertiCer has applied for membership with the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) for the so-called Gas Scheme Group. If the application is approved, you will be able to transfer Guarantees of Origin on your VertiCer trading account to and from another Issuing Body, which is also affiliated with the AIB hub for gas.
Fix REN (Portugal) successfully implemented

REN (Portugal) has successfully deployed a fix to the problems with their registry. Imports and exports are allowed again.
