For traders
VertiCer is the institution in the Netherlands that issues Guarantees of Origin (GO) and certificate of origin (CO) for all sustainable energy carriers. A GO is the only proof that energy has been generated in a sustainable way. A CO is the only proof that electricity was generated from fossil sources.
Both GOs and COs can be traded. VertiCer is the central point for all matters relating to this certification.
Trader
To trade in GvOs and COs, you register as a trader with VertiCer. A producer appoints a trader himself. You can indicate when you register whether producers can choose you as trader. Or perhaps you already have contact with a producer yourself.
After GOs or COs are created, they will come into your trading account. You can then trade them to European energy suppliers or other traders. The GOs and COs can also be charged off to end-users or the NEa for HBEs. This takes place within VertiCer's trading portal.
To create a trading account, you pay an annual fee. In addition, monthly fees are charged for trading actions. The specific fees can be found here.
Who can become a trader?
If you want to register as a trader with VertiCer, you must meet the following condition:
- A Dutch branch address
- A Chamber of Commerce registration
- A valid VAT number

No, this is not allowed.
Only if you accidentally redeemed too many GOs may you use the surplus for a future period, but only if the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) agrees.
No, a redeemed GO cannot be used for a consumption period after its expiry date and cannot be transferred to another trader.

- Your Account Holder ID
- The desired cancellation date
The cancellation can take effect from the first day of the following month.
The membership fee applies for the entire calendar year.
