VertiCer investigates possibility of accepting Bulgarian Guarantees of Origin for electricity

VertiCer is investigating whether the new energy legislation in Bulgaria is in line with European and Dutch laws and regulations for Guarantees of Origin (GOs). If so, it will become possible to cancel Bulgarian GOs in the Netherlands through so-called ex-domain cancellations. Such a construction already exists for Polish GOs.

VertiCer is investigating this because the Bulgarian issuing body SEDA is not a member of the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB). Therefore, VertiCer cannot rely on the work of the AIB to assess the Bulgarian GvO system. Exchange of GvOs through the AIB hub is not possible at this time. Incidentally, SEDA is in the process of becoming a member of the AIB. If and when SEDA becomes a member, transactions will still be able to take place through the AIB hub.

Upon completion of the study, VertiCer will inform you again through this channel.
